Where your files live
Every folder les Archives writes to, on your Mac and off it.
Updated Jul 26, 20262 min readApplies to 1.0.0
Useful when you are backing up, moving to a new Mac, or about to start over.
On your Mac
~/Library/Application Support/TBTCatalog
The local database, thumbnails, and cached brand assets. Deleting this is what “start over” means.
~/.tbt-catalog
Where earlier builds kept projects and settings. les Archives still reads it, so leave it alone unless you are deliberately resetting.
Your photographs
Wherever you already keep them. les Archives reads your originals in place and never moves, renames, or writes to them. Disconnect the app tomorrow and your folders are exactly as they were.
Off your Mac
Two things travel. The metadata: your account, workspace, catalog data, tags, alt text, Story Files, carousels, and bug reports. And a 2560 pixel working copy of every frame you catalog, which is the copy carousels, the editor portal, and publishing all run on.
Your full-resolution originals are not among them. The data and privacy page is the specific version, including who can reach the working copies, and it is worth reading once.

Still stuck
Tell us what happened and we will usually answer the same day. If it is more of a question than a bug, ask the room. Every tester reads it, and you are already signed in.
