Create your account and sign in
An email and a password, not a magic link. And what to do if you only ever used the web onboarding tool.

The Mac app signs you in with an email address and a password. That is different from the beta onboarding tool on the web, which uses a link, and the difference catches people out.
Use the email we invited
A different address makes you a second, empty account, and none of your beta setup will be in it.
Set a password of at least eight characters
If you are creating the account here for the first time, you also give us your name. We use it to name your archive, so put in the name you would want to see, not an abbreviation.
Decide whether we should remember you
Leave Remember me on this Mac checked and we save the password to the macOS Keychain behind Touch ID. Next launch, the form fills itself after you touch the sensor. Uncheck it and you type it every time.
Your workspace is made for you
There is no screen where you name a workspace, and no step you missed. The moment you sign in, we create one called Your Name’s Archive and put you in it. Everything you catalog lives there.
You cannot rename it in the app right now. If the name is wrong, tell us and we will change it on our side.
What signing in does not do
It does not connect Dropbox and it does not set up your brand voice. Those are the next two articles, and the app walks you into both of them on its own.
When it puts you back at a sign in screen
Normally you stay signed in for good. Three things end that: signing out on purpose, a session that has sat expired long enough for macOS to drop it, and a license that stops being valid. The last one shows up as a renewal screen rather than a sign in screen.
