Glossary

We made up a fair number of these. If the app used a word at you and you had to guess, it is probably on this page, and that is our fault rather than yours.

Workspace

The container for one studio: its jobs, brand, settings, team, and published work. We create yours when you sign in and name it after you, so there is no screen where you make one. Every plan gets exactly one.

Job

One shoot. A wedding, an engagement, an elopement, a family session, a brand shoot, a corporate event. There are eleven types and wedding is one of them, so we say job or project when we mean any of them.

Catalog

The pass that reads a job’s frames and writes what it can about them: tags, alt text, palette, phase of the day. It is one pass, not two, and it is what makes an archive searchable. The button says Start Cataloging.

The Archive

Every cataloged frame across every job, in one browsable place. This is where you go when you want a photograph and do not remember which job it was.

Debrief

The questionnaire you send a client. Fourteen sections, from how they met through who to credit. Their answers land against the job and feed everything we write, which is why a job with a finished debrief produces better copy than one without. Team member

Someone you invite into your workspace to help with the work: a second shooter, an assistant, an associate. You set what they can reach, capability by capability, and billing is off for them by default.

Client

The couple or customer whose job you are photographing. They are also the person who approves posts, if you turn approvals on.

Editor

An editor at a publication, at Over the Moon or Style Me Pretty or Vogue. Editors have their own portal and their own sign in. We never call a team member an editor, and if you see us do it, that is a bug worth reporting.

On the Record

A switch on a job, and on the frames inside it. On the record means a publication editor can browse it and ask to use it. Off the record means they cannot see it at all. Nothing is on the record until you say so.

Submission

A job packaged for a publication: a selection, a written piece, and vendor credits. It lands in that editor’s portal inbox rather than in an email, and you get their acknowledgment back in the app.

Carousel Studio

Where a set of frames becomes a multi-image Instagram post. A continuous canvas sliced into slides, with brand frames, film overlays and watermarks.

The Lineup

Pinterest’s scheduler. Approved pins sit in it and go out on their own at the times you set. The Mac has to be awake and the app open for the local timer to fire, or you turn on the cloud scheduler and it posts with the lid shut.

Pin variant

Fanning one image across several Pinterest boards over staggered days, so a single photograph works more than once without looking like spam.

Plan credits and BYOK

Plan credits are the AI usage included with your license, capped monthly. BYOK is bringing your own Anthropic key instead, which removes the cap and bills you directly. Beta accounts get 500 cataloged images a month on plan credits.

Appcast

The feed the app checks on launch to see whether there is a newer build. It is also where this site reads its version number, which is why nothing here can go stale.
