Set yourself up

Older builds ran a six-step wizard on first launch. That is retired. New users land straight in the app with an empty catalog and nothing blocking them.

What replaced it's better. Settings is a ledger of every setting in les Archives, numbered and filterable, and it has a second mode that walks you through the same rows one question per screen.

Getting there

Open SETTINGS in the top bar, or press Cmd+5. Settings is one of the five sections, next to CATALOG, THE ARCHIVE, SHARE, and CREATE.

Across the top of the screen you get a two-part toggle, GUIDED SETUP and THE LEDGER, plus SIGN OUT and SAVE SETTINGS. The toggle is the whole trick. Both modes read the same rows, so anything you answer in one shows up set in the other.

The nine chapters

Guided Setup

Choose GUIDED SETUP and the screen splits. On the left, THE SETUP LEDGER lists the nine chapters with a live count next to each one, so you can see at a glance that Chapter 02 is 3 of 12 and Chapter 05 is done.

On the right, one question at a time. Chapter name and question number at the top, the setting, a line of helper text, and the real control. At the bottom, ‹ BACK, SKIP FOR NOW, and NEXT ›.

Click any chapter in the left rail to jump to its first unanswered question.

Nothing here's mandatory. Skip anything you aren't ready for and come back.

When you reach the end you get a card reading "The ledger is written," with your total, and a button marked OPEN THE RECORD.

The Ledger

The other mode is the record itself. Every row on one long scrolling page, numbered from 001, with THE INDEX down the right side and a filter box pinned at the top. Type "watermark" into the filter and the record collapses to the rows that match.

Rows edit in place. Nothing sends you into a sub-screen and back out.

Some chapters carry a fold at the bottom reading [ + 3 MORE · ADVANCED ]. Those rows are real settings, just ones most people never touch.

Use Guided Setup the first time. Use the Ledger forever after, when you know what you're looking for.

It saves itself

Rows autosave as you edit. The button in the header tells you where you're: SAVE SETTINGS at rest, SAVING… while a save is in flight, SAVED ✓ when it lands. Clicking it forces a save immediately.

Two rows are deliberately different, and both say so on screen. CLIENT APPROVER EMAIL in Chapter 09 saves when you click its Save button, not as you type. WORKSPACE ANTHROPIC KEY in Chapter 08 has its own Save button too.

If you only do one chapter, do Chapter 02

The Voice is the chapter that earns the time. Everything les Archives ever writes for you, captions, alt text, Pinterest descriptions, submission notes, is written against what you put there.

Three rows carry most of the weight.

• BRAND NAME. The name the Assistant uses in every caption, blog post, and Pinterest description. Write it the way you want to be credited, so by Trent Bailey rather than Trent Bailey Photography LLC.
• VOICE ADJECTIVES. Pick up to three. The Assistant sees them every time it writes.
• WRITING SAMPLES. Blog openers, About paragraphs, real captions. Nothing shows us how you sound more clearly.

Chapter 08, Keys & Cloud holds Dropbox and your Anthropic key. Both have their own articles below.

Chapter 09, The Team is live for you. On a Solo-family plan that chapter is a single upgrade card. On Studio and Agency, which is what testers are on, it carries the real rows: approval mode, client approver email, INVITE A TEAM MEMBER, members, and high-res requests. Studio comes with two seats, so there's room for exactly one other person alongside you.
